Third matter: Calling to it

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم The third matter is Calling to it- meaning calling to the prescribed way which الله Gave us through the Messenger ﷺ So the Daʿwah is  Daʿwah  to Tawḥīd and obedience which is the the task of the Messengers and their followers. [12:108] قُلۡ هَٰذِهِۦ سَبِيلِىٓ أَدۡعُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۚ عَلَىٰ بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا۠ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِىۖ Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم): "This is my way; I invite unto Allâh (i.e. to the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me (also must invite others to Allâh i.e. to the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism with sure knowledge). If one perfects his knowledge and his action accordingly then he must convey the good to others in accordance with the objective laid down by الله to His Messengers in inviting people to Tawḥīd as there is great goodness in it for himself and for others and it's reward from الله is abundant if done with sincerity. Prophet ﷺ said addressing ʿAlī رضي الل...

Second matter: Actions upon Knowledge

Image
﷽ Acting upon the knowledge one gains The second matter mentioned by the author is action upon the knowledge. It means action upon the knowledge which one has acquired. This is in fact one of the main reasons to acquire knowledge so that the actions can be sound and correct based on proofs and evidences from the Qur'ān and the Sunnah. Actions are the manifestation of one's " Knowledge " and that's how knowledge actually benefits. So actions should follow the knowledge as per many textual proofs and also there is serious harm for those who don't act upon their knowledge and who don't correct themselves firstly- through acting upon the knowledge he has before correcting others. Action is the fruit of knowledge, actions without knowledge is resemblance to the Christians and knowledge without action resembles Jews. Fuḍayl ibn ʻIyāḍ said - The scholar continues to be ignorant until he acts according to his knowledge if he does so then he really becomes a scho...

First matter: The Knowledge obligatory upon us to know

Image
﷽ What is this knowledge obligatory upon us to know and why did the author particularised these 3 matters? This knowledge obligatory upon us to know covers 3 matters - knowing Allāh , knowing His Prophet ﷺ and knowing Dīn Al-Islām with proofs and evidences . The author particularised these matters as they're the fundamentals of Dīn without which Islām cannot be established and these are the matters about which a person will be asked in the grave . It comprises the whole of the Dīn and should be given great attention for their tremendous benefits. It's the foundation and perfection of one's Islām. Knowledge and awareness of Allāh by heart  This necessitates accepting His Commands and yielding to what Allāh, the Most High Demands and to apply Sharī'ah which Prophet Muhammad  ﷺ brought. How Does a person really Know and be aware about Allāh? By contemplating the legislated signs and revealations in the Book of Allāh and in the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ. Also by contemplat...

4 Matters Obligatory to Know

Image
﷽ The author started mentioning the name of الله saying (the Basmalaah)  بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم.   He said  'اعلم' (know) - it's an ettiquite of drawing attention so that the listener pays heed and be attentive concerning the knowledge that'll be presented to him . People can follow and utilize this ettiquite for addressing others to attract the attention of the one being addressed. Similar was done by Prophet ﷺ every now and then. This is to make the listener attentive to what will come next of the explanation. Then the author says 'رحمك الله' (May الله have Mercy on you) which really means that May الله Forgive you your previous sins and Guide you to what is good and correct in future and protect you from sins in future. This is when رحمة or mercy is used alone but when مغفرة or forgiveness is added to it, it means forgiveness from previous sins whereas رحمة refers to granting of what is good and protection from sins in future. These words show the care and...

Knowledge

Image
﷽ Knowledge Knowledge is one of the noblest thing one can ask for. When the ʿUlamāʾ speak about the term ' knowledge ' they mean the authentic ʾIslāmic knowledge which is the knowledge of the Book of Allāh, authentic sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ and all that assists in understanding these . This is the true and beneficial knowledge. The merits and virtues of knowledge varies depending on one's adherence to it. The greatest and most excellent of knowledge is knowledge pertaining to Allāh, His Names and Attributes known as ʿaqīdah and following this is that which is about His Rights over the creations, what He, the Most High Has Prescribed upon us. People of knowledge has been honoured and their status have been raised high by Allāh, the Most High. In fact He Made them to bear witness of His Oneness and Uniqueness with sincere devotion.

What is Al-Islaam?

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ❝ [Al-Islaam] ❞ And it is to submit to Him with tawḥeed and to yield to Him with obedience and to free oneself from shirk and its people. – Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab at-Tamimi (rahimahullaah) ❛AL-ISLAAM❜ is derived from “ASLAMA LISH-SHAY” meaning he submitted to it as it is said in the language, “ASLAMA NAFSAHU LILQATL” which means he submitted himself to being killed. So a person did islaam of himself, means that he submitted to that thing. Therefore ISLAAM is submitting one’s face and one’s purpose and resolve and one’s intention to Him,He the Mighty and Majestic. [An-Nisa’ 4:125] And who can be better in religion than one who submits his face (himself) to Allâh (i.e. follows Allâh’s religion of Islâmic Monotheism); and he is a Muhsin (a good-doer). And follows the religion of Ibrâhîm(Abraham) Hanîfa (Islâmic Monotheism – to worship none but Allâh Alone)…. [Al-Baqarah 2:112] Yes, but whoever submits his face (himself) to Allâh (i.e. follows Allâh’s ...
