Pleasing the people is an unattainable task!

أنا والله إرضاء الناس هذه غاية لا تدرك
By الله, pleasing people is an impossible task.

Making the people pleased with you is an unattainable task. Today they like you, next day they hate you, today they hold you as good next day just a simple mistake may make them forget your thousands of good you've done to them, today they speak well of you and hold you dear, next day they speak ill of you and distance you.

Don't tire yourself by working for this unattainable goal of pleasing the people rather seek the Pleasure of the One to Whom you and these people belong.

If the people are displeased but الله is Pleased with you then that's sufficient for you and that's what will truly benefit you.

You can never please the people nor will their being pleased with you will truly benefit you specially if that pleasure was gained through the Displeasure of your رب and most of the time nowadays you can only please others by Displeasing your رب and the things which Pleases Him causes displeasure of people on you except those of your brothers whom الله Guided towards goodness and truth, who love you for His Sake yet this is only a blessing from الله that he Granted you such companions whether more or few.

ʿĀʾishah reported: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said, “Whoever seeks the Pleasure of Allāh by the displeasure of people, Allāh will suffice him against the people. Whoever seeks the pleasure of people by the Displeasure of Allāh, Allāh will leave him to the patronage of people.”

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ الْتَمَسَ رِضَا اللَّهِ بِسَخَطِ النَّاسِ كَفَاهُ اللَّهُ مُؤْنَةَ النَّاسِ وَمَنْ الْتَمَسَ رِضَا النَّاسِ بِسَخَطِ اللَّهِ وَكَلَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَى النَّاسِ
